Bernstein Lowers Its Oil-Price Forecast to $60/Bbl in 2017
Sanford C. Bernstein Research, whose analysts are among the most bullish in the oil industry, says oil prices won't rise as high as it expected over the next few years because of high OPEC output, a weaker global economy and huge vats of stored oil across the world. Bernstein now sees a "price deck moving from $60 a barrel in 2017 to $80 a barrel in 2020." Bernstein lowers its 2017 forecast to $60 a barrel from $70 a barrel and its 2018 forecast to $70 a barrel from $80 a barrel.
